Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Principal Geologist with 10 to 15 years’ hands-on experience in mineral exploration, resource modeling, and geological interpretation to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality geological assessments for current operations and future projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geological mapping, core logging, and sampling programs
- Interpret and model geological data for resource estimation and mine planning
- Design and oversee drilling programs (exploration, infill, and geotechnical)
- Compile and validate geological data and generate technical reports
- Collaborate with mine engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers
- Supervise and mentor junior geologists and field operations staff
- Conduct QA/QC on sampling and assay data to ensure data integrity
Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field (Bachelor’s degree holder with solid field and software experience will be considered)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mineral exploration or mining geology
- Experience with various deposit types (e.g., gold, base metals, coal, lithium, etc.)
- Registration with professional geological bodies is an added advantage
- Proven track record in resource estimation and technical reporting
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel or work in remote exploration sites as will be required
Software Proficiency: Must have knowledge of relevant software and applications
